James travels the world in search of the most beautiful aspects of nature and design to incorporate into his body of work. His primary skill as a master of materials allows him to capture what he sees in nature and reproduce it in artistic mediums with realistic accuracy. His current focus on the mystical aspects of the beaches and skies of the hawaiian islands inspired a commission incorporating human ashes into the sands of the beach to memorialize a loved one. This commission expanded to a line of treasure pieces small paintings incorporating human ashes and tiny bone fragments with the actual sand from the beaches he visits.

The personal remains and spiritual energy of the islands combine in this artwork for the owner to feel and hold forever. This vortex is a point in the universe where time stops, being is whole, and the knowledge of one's true self is complete. He represents the vortex in the form of a triangle, the egyptian hieroglyphic form to express this supernatural element of nature.

Color patterns in human ashes range from black to white depending on the form and composition of the person in life, and thus every beachfront scene he creates is a unique personal memorial that can never be replicated. There is no glaze or overlay to the surface of the sand, and thus nothing separating you from touching your loved one. He also travels at the request of his clients to complete large-scale commissions for design and art for commercial interests and residential homes. His prominent public clients include saks fifth avenue, the four seasons hotels, hakeem olajuwon, chandler parsons, woody harrelson and the artist formerly known as prince.
